Mexican White Dip
That white sauce, you know the kind, it is the third wheel that comes with your salsa at your favorite Mexican restaurant, that sweet and garlicky sauce now can be made at home.
I love that dip they serve at the Mexican restaurants. Not the salsa the other one. It is not queso. It is a blend of sweet deliciousness. It complements the salsa very well. The problem is I was not sure what was in it until now. Depending on the restaurant some have a slight variation. The restaurant I go to this is spot on. Oh with those warm from the oven chips. That is all I need.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Never knew what went into this outrageous sauce. Thanks for the recipe.

I just made this and it’s gold but you can really taste the cumin
I have been in search of this white sauce recipie for years now. Only one Mexican restaurant has served this to me and they closed 7 yrs ago. It’s just perfect, and the mayo matters. Miracle whip gives it that hint of sweetness. I found if I let it refrigerated 24 hrs and stirring it once or twice during that time let all the ingredients blend together – the cumin is not so pronounced the longer it has time to blend.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for having posted this recipe. I had it years ago in Virginia and then the same family opened a restaurant here in Michigan so I am now re-addicted! With the virus isolation in effect I was looking to treat myself to something different and Voila! I know it has been a number of years since you posted this but by the science of the internet I was able to access it. My sister still lives in Virginia so I will have to check with her to see if she remembers where we had this dip years ago. May God bless you! I have added this site to my favorites and will check back to see what recipes you post for my favorite feast days. FYI, St. Francis’ feast is on October 4th and his favorite treat was almond cookies.
