Watermelon Lemonade
This different yet refreshing Lemonade is perfect for your next shindig. It is perfect served as is or you can add a bit of kick to it by adding a splash of vodka.
The weather has been so weird here in Virginia. There is a standing joke that only here you can experience all the seasons in just one day.
I do think for the past few months this has been true. In fact just the other day it started out around 35 in the morning. When the sun went down it was way past 80. How crazy is that?

It is now almost May and I am just now getting to plant my garden. Why you ask? It has been way to cold. Especially for my tomatoes. They do not like the cold at all. They will pout if it falls below 65 and it has up until recently.
So today it is almost 80 and it will be about that for another week now. I am ready to plant my garden.
Perhaps I will have all that done by Memorial Weekend.
In honor of all those warm days how about a cool drink. Then do you think you could help me with my garden?

Watermelon Lemonade
Ingredients:
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 medium seedless watermelon pureed
1 cup vodka (optional)
Directions:
In a small saucepan over medium heat add lemon juice and sugar. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool completely before adding watermelon puree. Serve cold or over ice. Garnish with lemon wedge or watermelon.
Peace be with you,
Veronica

This looks wonderfully refreshing. I’d love to have a tall glass waiting for me when I come in from the garden. I really enjoyed your post this morning. I hope you have a wonderful day. Blessings…Mary
I could live on watermelon once the heat arrives – nothing quenches my thirst better – except now maybe this – in liquid form.
Come on summer! Lovely-looking drink. Happy Friday!
Loved it – sipped on it all day long yesterday!
I could go for a whole pitcher of this to help me beat the heat we’re having today. It looks fantastic!

This looks so refreshing. I can’t wait to mix me up a pitcher, as soon as watermelon becomes more plentiful here. Gael appears to have led a full life!
