Touchdown Tuesday – Coca Cola Chicken Wings

I thought I would try and fit in a few appetizer posts before the Superbowl.
It is a series of appetizers I will post the next couple of Tuesday’s leading up to the Superbowl.
Isn’t that nice of me?
So this will be the first of a few bites I will feature this month.
These wings are really good. They are sweet with that soy taste that I love.
These are different from the ordinary buffalo wings so many people make for game night.
Why not change things up a bit and serve wings that won’t blow your head off?
Just saying.
Coca Cola Chicken Wings
2 lbs chicken wings
(wings and drummettes separated)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons dry sherry or rice wine (optional)
3/4 cup Coca-Cola
chopped chives and black sesame seeds for garnish
Directions
Put the chicken wings in a zip lock bag and pour half the soy sauce on top. Smoosh the wings around in the bag until they are well-coated. Allow them to marinade for 10- 15 minutes at room temperature.
Heat a wok or large skillet over medium-heat. Saute the chicken wings until they are golden brown on each side about 8 minutes. Pour the remaining soy, sherry and coke into the wok. Bring the liquid to a simmer. Simmer the wings for 15- 20 minutes, until the liquid is reduced to a glaze.
Transfer the chicken to a plate, garnish with chives and serve.

Peace be with you,

These look so yummy! They look crunchy and sticky and soooo delish!
Oh my goodness! The recipe is as wonderful as the picture makes it out to be. I’ve been waiting for this post since you put the photo up on facebook yesterday! It looks fantastic. I can’t wait to see the rest of your appetizers over the course of the month.
These looks absolutely wonderful! We love chicken wings, especially while watching football and these sound and look perfect.
These look fantastic, I could eat a whole batch of them!
Those look fantastic. I have to try!
This is my uncle’s famous dish, he cooks for us whenever there is a party and we really enjoy it.
I love the taste of most all chicken wings, but I hate how messy they are. (Yes, I am picky!) I would love to try this recipe on some boneless chicken tenders for Super Bowl (or anytime).
These chicken wings look fabulous!
Damn they look good and so easy as well. Thanks for the tip …….
