This is a kind of nostalgic recipe for me. My dad loved fudge. When I got old enough, I used to give it to him on his birthday or christmas. He died a while back. Through out the years, I have tried several recipes. Many have failed. That candy thermometer sure can be intimidating. I have since mastered the candy thermometer. This one is easier, why make more work for yourself. I think if my daddy was alive, he would enjoy this.
1 tsp. vanilla
12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 7-oz jar marshmallow creme
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1 stick butter
1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
Combine sweetened condensed milk, butter and chocolate chips. Cook on high 5 minutes until melted. Stir after 3 minutes. Add marshmallow cream and vanilla. Combine. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and put in the refrigerator to cool.
